Think back to the mid 1990s. Do you remember the harangue against welfare reform? Many people in powerful positions spoke against it. In fact, many went on record saying that it would create more problems then it would solve. Did it? Here are the facts.

Many people do not understand politics very well. They often blast their Congress Person for this, that and the other thing. You are probably one of them; no worries you are not alone as a matter of fact if you watch enough TV you will blast and condemn all our leadership figures. What might be beneficial to your understanding before you start point fingers at the politicians, is to better understand human nature, inner workings of clubs and groups and the human and primate innateness and genetic make up of politics. Before you turn to accuse me of judging our politicians as a bunch of no good apes or their chimpanzee cousins there is a book you should read. It is also available on audiotape if you do not like to read anything longer than a one-page article. Or you can simply take my word for it? The book is called:

Are you reading this article because you want to stop Islamic Radical International Terrorism? If so, are you in the age bracket that you can do something about it? For instance join the military and meet it head on? If not then you need to support our troops, men and women in uniform. By ridding the world of this threat here and now in this present period we are helping future generations from having to deal with International Terrorism with more devastating and advanced weapons of mass destruction.

Japan lit its candles of pure, “noble sadness” on the 60th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The mayor of the late city, Iccho Itoh, criticized the USA for dropping the first atomic bomb in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and following that after 3 days by the second atomic bomb which attacked Nagasaki.

The aftermath of Katrina has affected more that just New Orleans and the surrounding gulf coast. There are huge financial implications associated with the catastrophe, from the initial humanitarian aid to the rebuilding and repairing needed to get the local area back on its feet. Eight oil refineries shut down as a result of Katrina could take many months to restart. The Gulf Coast is a prime supplier of oil, through pipelines now shut due to lack of power and ocean-going barges unable to load from ports eradicated by the storm.

President Bush and Secretary Powell should hang their heads in
shame. The administration professes to value America’s children
and touts the phrase “No Child Left Behind.” Simultaneously,
they have abandoned an estimated 16,000 American children abroad.

The United States is one of the last remaining land empires. That it is made the butt of opprobrium and odium is hardly surprising, or unprecedented. Empires – Rome, the British, the Ottomans – were always targeted by the disgruntled, the disenfranchised and the dispossessed and by their self-appointed delegates, the intelligentsia.

The majority of school shootings have taken place during Bill
Clinton and George W. Bush’s reign. Precisely forty out of forty
two shootings. Since its inception, America has always had guns
and schools coexisting at about the same time. Yet amazingly
forty shootings have taken place during their presidency!
Consider also that these forty shootings took place during a
period when the number of gun laws and restrictions was growing!
At least during the Clinton regime.
