Casual Fridays have created a certain crisis in the work force; how do you dress casual and still come off as a professional? This crisis is even more evident at the office party, where anything goes, and you have minimal time to change. What limits need to be enforced is up to debate, but a few basic concerns need to be addressed.

We’re all aware of how difficult it is to find business builders.

This can be tough…Even with the best recruiting techniques.

For me one of the better ways to find business builders is to Retail to Recruit.

Personally I think your MLM business should be made up of 75% retail customers and 25% business builders.

By now, you’d have to have lived in a cave in Afghanistan for the last decade not to know the importance of networking. Whether you’re job-hunting, or growing your business, or just striding into the exciting world of networking, you need to know how to talk. And listen. But beyond “how did you hear about this event?” how do you start a worthwhile networking conversation? It’s not so hard – you just have to focus on the OTHER person.

If you’re networking with strangers, you’re wasting your time. A consultant friend of mine recently complained, “I’m doing 2-3 networking events a week – and I’m worn out.” When I asked why she felt networking was important, she replied, “One of my marketing goals is to do at least 1 networking event a week.” (I pointed out that she just admitted to doing 2-3 a week – and perhaps doing 1 a week is smart and doing triple that goal is causing some of the fatigue.) But there’s much more to the great American business myth of networking.

For years we’ve been taught to identify ourselves as reps for one XYZ company or another.

~We have our fancy business cards printed, some letterhead,

maybe an address stamp.

~We use the company logo and replicated websites as points

of first impression.

Entrepreneurs need like minded individuals to learn from and relate to. You can learn an enormous amount from mingling with other opportunity entrepreneurs. This also serves to become a source of profit and revenue too as members of the network pass on lucrative deals that they can’t currently take on due to existing commitments.
